Hi, I'm Liandra.
My career has largely been about creating beautiful prints, whether it be for textiles, packaging or any other medium. Design is problem solving. and naturally, this has led me to getting involved in all sorts of projects, that do not sit neatly within a graphic and or textile design portfolio. But these endeavors are quintessential to my character and ethos. I hope that this platform serves as a reflection of that. The picture should be colorful, diverse and a little bit curious.
I hold a BTech Degree in Textile Design and Technology from the Tshwane University Technology. Since graduating in 2012, I have had the opportunity to work as an in-house Textile Designer with the largest homeware retailer in Southern Africa. I have also pursued independent projects in curation, styling, graphic design and more recently, creative education.
In 2019, I undertook a Post Graduate study in Sustainable Development at the Department of Economics, University of Stellenbosch. This may seem like a world far distant from design. However, as an engaged advocate and activist for a better more equitable industry (and wider world) the relationship seems not only clear, but essential. Designers need to be part of the transdisciplinary conversation to find innovative solutions for complex real world problems.
